What could Lapp Electric possibly have in common with the well known fast food chain Wendy’s?
Even through Lapp Electric and Wendy’s have a lot of differences, there are a few things that we have in common.
Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy’s restaurant in Columbus, OH in 1969 with the goal of “serving up a quick meal without cutting any corners.”
Lapp Electric was also founded in 1969. Manny Lapp, founder of Lapp Electric, had a sole mission to provide the best service for his customers. This mission is something that we still live by today.
In addition to Lapp Electric and Wendy’s sharing the year they were founded and a service-minded mentality, we also share in common the fact that both Manny Lapp, founder of Lapp Electric and Dave Thomas, founded of Wendy’s passed away prior to the age of 70. Two men with visions and dreams who were taken from us too early.
At Lapp Electric, our goal is continue to fulfill Manny’s vision and mission and we are sure that Wendy’s feels the same way about Dave.
In honor of 2019 being 50 years since Manny Lapp had a dream and vision to start Lapp Electric, each week via social media we are looking back at our history via social media as well as summarizing our social media posts on our Blog.
If you did not have a chance, be sure to check out last week’s post:
Lapp Electric Turns 50 – Week 14 (Groff’s Snack Foods, Newsletters & Accessible)
Work Site
For a company that averages over 2500 jobs a year, picking out 52 job sites may be a challenge, but we look forward to sharing with you some memorable jobs over the past 50 years.
Rockvale Square was built in phases over a 10-year period of time with the first buildings opening in 1986. Lapp Electric had the privilege of helping with some of these buildings as well as helping to wire the Rockvale Village Inn.
Rockvale Square recently became The Shops at Rockvale and we look forward to seeing the revitalization of this iconic shopping experience in Lancaster County.
52 Memories of 50 Years
Do you remember the Ice Bucket Challenge of 2014?
Lapp Electric was challenged by our friends at Ressler & Mateer, Inc. and we accepted the challenge.
After the event, the Lapp Electric team enjoyed ice cream treats from TJ’s Ice Cream.
There is even a video of the Ice Bucket Challenge. Be sure to check it out!
