A lot of times when we think of memorable anniversaries, we think of 25 years, 50 years, 75 years or 100 years. But any year that a business, non-profit, organization or event celebrates another successful year it is something that should be recognized.
While Lapp Electric is celebrating our 50-year anniversary in 2019, there are a lot of great organizations and events also celebrating memorable anniversaries in 2019, including our friends at Make-A-Wish with their Mother’s Day Truck Convoy (see below for more information).
During 2019, we are exploring our 50 years in business to find out more about the year Lapp Electric was founded as well as taking a look at some memorable job sites and events that we have been a part of over the last 50 years. Each week via social media we are posting memories and then summarizing these memories on our blog.

52 Memories of 50 Years
As mentioned earlier, our friends at Make-A-Wish celebrated a memorable anniversary recently. This past Sunday, May 12th, was the 30th anniversary of the Make-A-Wish Mother’s Day Truck Convoy. The event began in 1990 with 42 trucks to “grant a young boy’s wish to sit in a big truck and talk to his sister over CB radio.” (Lancaster Online)
Sunday’s event featured over 500 trucks (WGAL).
For at least the last 25 years, Lapp Electric has had the honor of helping with this event by providing lighting and power to the various stands via our generator. This is an event that we enjoy participating in each year and we are thankful for the many volunteers who help make this event possible.
