Lapp Electric Turns 50 – Week 37 (Leadership, Reeco & Ski Roundtop)

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to another business that was founded in 1969…Wendy’s.

When Wendy’s opened its first restaurant in 1969, they introduced the Frosty.

“The Frosty’s original light chocolate flavor, actually a combination of chocolate and vanilla, was initially the only flavor offered. Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas thought that a pure chocolate flavor would overwhelm the taste of the restaurant’s hamburgers. In August 2006, a vanilla flavor was introduced after repeated consumer requests.”

What is your favor frosty flavor?

Work Site

This week takes us back to the 1990s when we built units for Reeco in partnership with GSM Industrial. In the early years, this work was done at GSM’s facility in Ephrata.

52 Memories of 50 Years

A few weeks ago at our Company Picnic/50th Anniversary Celebration we asked individuals to submit their favorite memory of Lapp Electric. A common theme that came up was the year we went to Ski Roundtop Mountain Adventures for our company picnic and did paintball and the OGO balls.

So, we decided to make that this week’s memory.

Going into Saturday, July 29, 2017, we were unsure of what the weather was going to bring. They were calling for rain all day long and we thought about postponing the event, however we are so glad we did not. The weather was perfect with sunny skies and because of the threat of bad weather, the place was deserted.
